Jim Ottaway Jr. Film Center
4:00 pm – 7:00 pm EDT/GMT-4
Gather with students, alumni/ae, faculty and friends for the New York premiere for members of the Bard community, and learn about the life of an unsung musical legend. Bard alumnus Mostafiz ShahMohammed ’97 directed the film Miúcha: The Voice of Bossa Nova. Miúcha tells the story of the renowned Brazilian singer through her personal letters, audio diaries, home movies, and expressive watercolor drawings animated for the film. After the screening there will be a reception with delicious Brazilian foods and drinks from 5:45–6:30 pm.

A reception will be held with President Leon Botstein and film producers Mostafiz ShahMohammed ’97 and Marta Sanchez following the film. Enjoy bubble tea, Brazilian inspired bites, and caipirinhas!
